Hi. I'm Avery.

I got 'The Call' my junior year of college, when life tacked on more class: a crash course in caregiving.

Hospitals and paperwork. Phone calls that led nowhere. Everyone had "answers" but no one had solutions. The hospital wanted to discharge before we were ready. And while the social worker shrugged, the doctors avoided eye contact.

"There was no one to tell me what to do. So I had to figure it out."

I learned things I never planned to learn: How to get POA signed in a hospital room. How to fight with banks. How to file disability claims and navigate placement. How to sell two properties under impossible deadlines (one with legal issues that took months to clear).

Then I did it again. Years of at home hands-on dementia care: medications, mobility, and mood swings. Through hospice–until the end. Sadness. Anger. Grief.

And again. Untangling another parent's finances after a health crisis. Late payments, IRS notices, fractured credit, and a mortgage at risk. Building a system from chaos, saving a home, stabilizing a pension.
